Week 12

Week 12, Assignment 3 was released and we started working on it, my group had a meeting but I couldn't managed to attended to that meeting L I  started working on the assignment and hopefully we will get it finished. 

Week 11

In week 11 I spent around 2 hours working on the presentation with Marcus and Tim after the lecture for building IT system and trying to make a nice, interesting power point about our project and how the characters in the show “The Walking Dead” could use our program J …. It was really fun to do such a thing.

Week 10

Week 10, assignment 2 has been successfully submitted, so I have nothing to do for this week waiting for assignment 3 to be released so I can work on it, in this week I did more research on what makes a project effective and tried to learn some tips which could help me and my team mates in our project. 

Week 9

In week 9, we had 2 group meetings working on the assignment.   Marcus and I did our sections but because  Jacob and Callum left the group we had to do their sections which was unexpected but we managed to finish the assignment , finalize it and submit it on time.  I worked hard on assignment 2, spent more hours on this assignment around 12 hours.

Week 8

In week I spent 2 hours working on my section of the assignment. My section was manly about the challengers which the group went through, I spent an hour reading over my team mates blogs and see what they have wrote on their blog and what kind of challengers they faced. This week was a hard week for all the team because we lost 2 of our group mates so we had to work hard and get the assignment finished on time. 

Week 7

In this week I have thought about the design for the application which we are going to make and what data are we going to include in the program, I brain stormed  some  dot points about database management and relational database. This is what I have done

I also thought about how the application would look like so I did some scratches.

Week 6

Weeks 5 goal was to plan the database context diagram , and in this week 6 I started working on it and finalizing it ………..

And with help from Marcus the final draft was done.

Week 5

This week’s task is to create a context diagram.  When I looked at the timetable and I saw the word “context diagram “I had no idea what It was, I jumped on YouTube and watched some helpful videos about what context diagram is and why is it helpful when creating a database management system.

I used this video to help me with knowing some ideas about context diagrams; I spent 2 hours trying to draw different types of diagrams. 

 Also this diagram was online which was really helpful …

Basically this week’s aim was to get to know what context diagram and do all the research about it , and learn how to draw one.

Week 4

In this week I have decided to  start writing my blogs on my dairy and by the end of the semester I would post what I wrote to the blog which I have created.  In this week I started thinking deeply about our project and whether we will successfully finish it off on time and what kind of challengers we will go through. 

I have nothing to do as the first draft was already done by the entire group in class so I decided to spend my time wisely and look online for the different ways to write a report as this is my first year at university and I have low experience in report writing.

I spent around 2 hours online reading and taken notes of the similar projects.

Also I spent 2 hours on Friday with Jacob and Marcus finalizing the timeline and the report and getting it ready to be submitted on the coming Sunday. 

Week 3

In week 3 we started working on our plan and we made roles for each person and everyone started working depending on their role and what they have to do inorder to succeed. This pic shows our plan,The tasks we had to do and the due dates 

 

Week 2

In week 2, we started thinking about the writing plan and how we will work towards finishing the project....  And we considered some issues such as the main Idea of the project, what we find the most interesting about the project and tools and techniques we are going to use ...

In week 1 , We formed a group of 5 people and we called it database kamikaze pilots. Each person had different skills and different abilities. We decided create a database program by using the language Java..
